About / Biography

Dr. Dojalisa Sahu is a Professor of Chemistry and Ph.D. Cell Coordinator at the Department of Chemistry, School of Applied Sciences, at Centurion University of Technology and Management. She completed her M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Sambalpur University and also earned an MBA in HR and IT. She began her research journey at CSIR-IMMT, where she worked on major research projects in advanced materials science.

Her research interests focus on the synthesis and development of functional nanostructured materials and their applications in photoluminescence, photocatalysis, and antibacterial studies. She has contributed extensively to scientific research through publications, books, book chapters, conference proceedings, and journal review activities. She has also held several academic and administrative leadership roles, including Head of the Department, Academic Coordinator, and Associate Dean.

Dr. Sahu actively mentors research scholars and postgraduate students and continues to contribute to interdisciplinary research, academic excellence, and innovation in the field of chemistry.

Synthesis and characterization of functional nanostructured metal oxide materials (ZnO, SnO₂) with novel morphologies using sonochemical and sol-gel routes.

Photocatalysis

Visible-light photocatalytic degradation of toxic industrial dyes and environmental remediation using doped and composite nanostructures.

Hydrogen Generation

Sustainable hydrogen production from biogas via thermal plasma reforming and high-purity H₂ generation using non-thermal plasma techniques.

Photoluminescence

Optically stimulated luminescence and photoluminescence properties of rare-earth and transition metal doped metal oxide nanocrystals (Eu, Gd, Cu, Co, Ni doped ZnO/SnO₂).

Antibacterial Activity

Enhanced antibacterial performance of semiconductor nanoparticles and their composite heterostructures for biomedical applications.

Biopolymer Films

Development and characterization of biopolymer-based films for sustainable packaging and functional material applications.

MXene-Based Materials

MXene-based nanostructured materials for gas sensing applications and next-generation functional device development.

Material Characterization

Instrumental characterization including XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis, SEM/TEM, PL spectroscopy and advanced data analysis for nanostructured materials.
